Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology
The Florida State University College of Medicine Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology is a 12-month, full-time training program designed to prepare emerging psychologists for professional practice in integrated healthcare settings. Located at the FSU College of Medicine Isabel Collier Read Medical Campus in Southwest Florida, the program offers a distinctive emphasis on primary care psychology, interprofessional collaboration, and service to rural, and underserved populations.
The Internship is grounded in a practitioner-scholar model that integrates clinical service, supervision, didactic training, and professional development. Interns develop broad competencies expected of entry-level health service psychologists while gaining specialized experience in integrated primary care and clinical health psychology.
