Noemi LeFranc

Undergraduate Degree: Florida State University

Noemi graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and a minor in chemistry and business. In her undergraduate career she was the vice president of the Oscar Arias Sanchez Hispanic Honor Society. She also was a member of the FSU First Responder team, biology mentors, and Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-health honor society, among other things. She also spent a week in Belize on a medical mission trip where a group of volunteers provided basic medical care for severely underserved communities. Noemi worked in Dr. David Gilbert’s research lab for a year where she investigated the degradation of anti-CDT1 in hamster cells as a result of UV irradiation. She is also a very active volunteer in her community and has been a mentor and tutor to elementary aged children through several different organizations, and has assisted physically and mentally disabled children play sports with an organization called Challenger Sports. She enjoys dancing salsa, working out, and swimming. Noemi chose to attend the FSU College of Medicine because of the innovative technology, pioneering curriculum and the helpful and caring faculty and staff.
