Brian, originally from Palm Harbor, Fla., but now residing in Tampa, completed his undergraduate studies in Biology and Health Science Education at the University of Florida. While volunteering at the Shands Pediatric department, Brian also conducted health education research as a freshman. Later, he volunteered at the North Florida Regional Medical Center Emergency Room and the Conductive Education Academy for children with neurological disorders. This led him to the Department of Neuroscience where he remained for his junior and senior year as a research assistant studying plasticity and stroke recovery. Brian chose the FSU College of Medicine because of its updated technology and comfortable feeling provided by the faculty, current students and campus. "Everyone at FSU is here to help, and the non-stressful atmosphere was what I was looking for in a medical school."
