Abby graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s in biochemistry and a minor in nutritional sciences. She volunteered with Camp Boggy Creek for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses, as well as Hope Lodge and the Ronald McDonald House. She also was a pediatric volunteer at Shands and was president of Friends for Life of America, a student-run organization at UF dedicated to helping pediatric cancer patients. “I have had the opportunity to work with exceptional children and their families as they battled cancer,” Abby said. “My experiences have taught me that the art of medicine lies in a physician’s insight, empathy and dedication.”
