FSUCares is a dynamic medical student organization devoted to
helping the underserved and underprivileged populations both locally
and internationally. Our mission is to provide health services,
including medical care, education, and counseling to those people
who would not otherwise have access to care while providing an
interactive, clinical learning environment for FSU College of
Medicine students.

Class of 2010 students participated in
Providence Fun Day,
where they educated the community about health issues. |
We pride ourselves on local outreach because we realize that there
are people who are in desperate need of medical help right in our
own backyard! FSUCares has established a partnership with
local organizations such as the Leon County Health Department,
Neighborhood Health Services, the Bond Clinic, and the Community
Neighborhood Renaissance Partnership. Some local activities include
giving annual flu vaccinations to migrant farm workers, setting up
health fairs for families of underserved communities, caring for
patients at the Neighborhood Health Services Clinic, and
establishing monthly health screenings at the local Homeless
Shelter.
Our international and state medical outreach focuses on rural
villages in Portobelo, Panama and Filipinas, Panama, and the
underserved populations at the Texas-Mexico border. The goals of our medical outreach programs are
to focus on the unique public health factors that influence
different regions of the world in order to expose and prepare future
doctors for the ever-changing face of medicine and society.
