FSU REGIONAL MEDICAL SCHOOL CAMPUS – PENSACOLA
REOPENS FOLLOWING HURRICANE IVAN
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Pensacola campus of the Florida State
University College of Medicine reopened this morning after power was
restored to the campus building at 8880 University Parkway. The campus had been closed due to Hurricane Ivan since Tuesday.
All students and staff members, including those who evacuated, have
been located and are safe, and the campus building is in good
condition. However, many students, faculty and staff suffered damage
to their homes and property and remain without power. Also, because
of damage to the local infrastructure, including many medical
facilities, some students may not be able to resume their clinical
rotations until Monday, Sept. 27.
College of Medicine faculty and staff will make arrangements with
each student assigned to the Pensacola campus to make up any missed
classes or clinical rotations.
