The FSU Autism Institute designed and built Autism Florida: Your First Source for Autism Information, a statewide autism website to serve as a centralized point of entry into information, services, supports, and other resources in Florida that would assist families and individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The statewide autism website offers a user-friendly navigational system to provide easy access to information, supports, and resources to guide families from the time of suspecting autism through screening, evaluation, treatment, and into transitional and adult years. As a centralized, single entry point for Florida autism information, the Website uses pre-existing resources, including information from Florida’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD), state agency websites and databases, the Dan Marino Foundation, and other organizations. The design offers simplicity of use and ease of navigation to access information about autism in Florida quickly. The website was designed based on the recommendations of the Governor’s Task Force on ASD with a contract from the Florida Department of Health.
