Curriculum
![]()
The Family Medicine Residency Program has been designed to fulfill the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) competencies in Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Professionalism, Practice-Based Learning and Improvement, and Systems-Based Practice. The curriculum offers a balanced learning environment within various settings (hospital, ambulatory, emergency, home and long-term care) and rotations in a variety of areas and specialties: pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, geriatrics, and other electives. Residents will develop skills that will equip them to be competent, well-rounded family medicine physicians.
The ACGME enforces clinical and educational work hours that do not exceed 80 hours per week averaged over a four-week period, including all in house clinical and educational activities, clinical work done from home, and all moonlighting. Residents must be scheduled for a minimum of one day in seven free of clinical work and required education (when averaged over four weeks). In order to help maintain patient safety and resident well-being, we strictly monitor that all residents in the program follow the clinical and educational work hours regulations.
