Job Description
Dr. Bienkiewicz's position combines directorship of the Biomedical Proteomics Laboratory and independent research. She is also involved in teaching of medical students and Ph.D. candidates in Biomedical Sciences.
Biosketch
Prior to arrival at Florida State University, Dr. Bienkiewicz held a research assistant professor position at Colorado State University, where she conducted research and participated in undergraduate and graduate-level teaching in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In 2001-2004, she served as Director of FSU's Physical Biochemistry Facility at the Institute of Molecular Biophysics. Dr. Bienkiewicz joined the faculty of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the College of Medicine in July 2004.

Research Focus
Dr. Bienkiewicz's research is in the area of protein misfolding in disease, with the focus on Alzheimer’s disease and prion-associated disorders.
