Job Description

To assist the Dean of the College of Medicine in raising private, corporate and foundation financial resources in support of the College of Medicine and its students.

Biosketch

Prior to coming to Florida State University College of Medicine Mr. Munson spent five years as Executive Director for Alumni Relations and Development at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Daytona Beach, Fla. He was responsible for informing and engaging the university’s 93,000 alumni as well as administering and managing the multi-campus alumni affairs program. In addition, he served as a senior development officer cultivating and developing major gifts in support of academic, co-curricular and athletic programs and in raising funds for student assistance. Prior to that he served for 5 years as a Major Gift Officer and Director of Marketing for the Association of Graduates at the US Military Academy (West Point). Mr. Munson has held management positions in marketing and sales organizations after serving with the United States Army for over 21 years.

Research Focus

Mr. Munson’s work will center on enhancing and improving support for two “worthy clients” through active fundraising; the College of Medicine (including its facilities, programs and people) and its students, who are the focus of our work.
