Job Description
Dr. Chukmaitov is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health. His primary responsibilities include research in the areas of healthcare quality, outpatient care, and hospital systems. As Center director, he develops research on health care systems change to address global health issues, provides technical assistance to governmental and nongovernmental organizations abroad, and facilitates faculty and student exchange and training on global health in collaboration with international partners.
Biosketch
Dr. Chukmaitov came to the College of Medicine in October 2005 after completing his Ph.D. degree at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia Campus. Prior to that, he held several positions within the World Bank Health Reform Project in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, the USAID-founded ZrdavReform project, Abt Associates, Inc. in Central Asia.
