- Articulate the career path(s) of education professionals in family
medicine
- Identify and describe the opportunities and challenges facing education
professionals in family medicine training programs
- Identify resources and strategies for promoting mentoring experiences
for education professionals both within and outside base institutions
- Promote the utilization of the “Educator’s Portfolio”
- Identify and develop opportunities for networking and support through
the strategies such as an email book club, guidance and coaching on
promotion, effective service on committees, and socialization into
academic medicine
- Develop a database of education professionals in family medicine which
would include their primary job responsibilities, interests, and
expertise
- Provide an orientation network for new education professionals in family
medicine
- Develop a bank of prototype job descriptions for different education
professional roles in family medicine
- Set up email links to facilitate communication between group members
between meetings
- Provide information about online resources
- Identify strategies to promote effective collaboration between physician
educators and education professionals in family medicine
- Identify topics and develop proposals for future presentations at STFM
meetings on issues pertinent to education professionals
- Contribute to the education-related columns published in Family Medicine
