Welcome to our web site!
In support of the mission of the Society of Teachers of Family
Medicine, the mission of the Group on Education Professionals (GEP) in
Family Medicine provides a forum to help develop and nurture the career
paths and development of a professional identity for non-physician
medical education professionals in academic family medicine. The
GEP promotes the critical importance of medical education professionals
and educates faculty in family medicine programs and departments about
the contributions to the discipline that are made by education
professionals, including teaching, evaluation, research and service.
The group recognizes the need to nurture and foster continuous
collaboration among all professionals involved in family medicine
education. Our mission is accomplished by providing: 1) a forum for
discussion among medical education professionals during scheduled STFM
meeting and throughout the year via listserv. 2) educational support
in the form of workshops and seminars offered during scheduled STFM
meetings focused on skill development for medical education
professionals and other interested family medicine faculty and staff.
3)presentations, including workshops, seminars and posters, that
demonstrate and highlight the important interaction between
non-physician medical education professionals and family physicians. LuAnn
